About Us

Who We Are

Port Melbourne Veterinary Clinic and Hospital was established in 1997 on Bay street, two streets from the beach.  The clinic is purpose-built and fully equipped for all types of surgeries.

We have four full-time veterinarians, two part-time veterinarians and 8 veterinary nurses and animal attendants.  Our friendly staff are passionate about health and value your relationship with your pet.  Your pet's well-being is our number one priority.

We are open 7 days a week, including most public holidays.

Our vets have decades of experience in the veterinary field, and are up to date with the latest knowledge as we value continuing education.  We attend seminars and conferences on a regular basis.

We offer a pet export service with Dr. Julie Paris, who is a government accredited export veterinarian.  If you are planning to travel overseas with your pet, give us a call to book in an appointment.

We have in-house pathology for fast turn-around results, but also use external laboratories.

We are close to multiple referral centres and work closely to do the best for your pets.  If your pet needs a specialist's option, we can get a specialist to come into our clinic for a diagnostic work-up or send you to one of specialist centres in Melbourne.

Our Team

Casey

Casey

I joined the Port Melb Vet team earlier this year and am currently studying Cert IV of Vet Nursing. I had been working at an animal shelter in Geelong and recently became a cat whisperer at a local cattery. I may be known as the crazy cat lady as I often foster kittens and have adopted a gorgeous ginger boy called Biscuit but I also have Daisy, a 40kg German Shepherd who is my equal favorite.

I have been nursing for 9 years and started working with the PMVC team in 2015. I have grown up with countless pets and currently have a goofy Italian Greyhound named Dante, and a 12 year old cat called Oscar. I enjoy many aspects of this job, with my favourite part being the nursing care of our sick and recovering patients.

Originally from Scotland, I now call Australia home. I have over 5 years experience working in welfare and general practices. I am a big advocate for patient care and well being, especially the golden oldies which led me to rescuing a beautiful 10 year old Border Collie X Heeler called Basil. He is now a big part of my family.

Originally from NZ, I joined the team after wanting a career change from Pastry Chef. Port Melb Vet opened their doorse to my Cert IV Vet Nurse training, which I am enjoying and will complete soon. I have experience with horses and love learning about all the animals I am caring for and meeting all our clients.
