Port Melbourne Veterinary Clinic and Hospital was established in 1997 on Bay street, two streets from the beach. The clinic is purpose-built and fully equipped for all types of surgeries.
We have four full-time veterinarians, two part-time veterinarians and 8 veterinary nurses and animal attendants. Our friendly staff are passionate about health and value your relationship with your pet. Your pet's well-being is our number one priority.
We are open 7 days a week, including most public holidays.
Our vets have decades of experience in the veterinary field, and are up to date with the latest knowledge as we value continuing education. We attend seminars and conferences on a regular basis.
We offer a pet export service with Dr. Julie Paris and Dr Lewis Kirkham, who are accredited export veterinarian. If you are planning to travel overseas with your pet, give us a call to book in an appointment.
We have in-house pathology for fast turn-around results, but also use external laboratories.
We are close to multiple referral centres and work closely to do the best for your pets. If your pet needs a specialist's option, we can get a specialist to come into our clinic for a diagnostic work-up or send you to one of specialist centres in Melbourne.
Rhianne can be found on our reception desk, greeting our patients with treats and compliments in equal measure. She has worked in the animal care industry since 2003 and loves to spend her day surrounded by your treasured family members. At home, Rhianne is a proud owner to a Great Dane, a Mastiff Cross, and her beloved Devon Rex and Domestic Long-haired cats.
I joined the Port Melb Vet team earlier this year and am currently studying Cert IV of Vet Nursing. I had been working at an animal shelter in Geelong and recently became a cat whisperer at a local cattery. I may be known as the crazy cat lady as I often foster kittens and have adopted a gorgeous ginger boy called Biscuit but I also have Daisy, a 40kg German Shepherd who is my equal favorite.
Office Manager / Part Time Receptionist
I have been nursing for 4 years and have completed my cert IV in Veterinary Nursing. I grew up with rabbits and guinea pigs which sparked my interest in exotic pets and I am a proud mother of a foster failed ginger boy cat named Bao Bao (translated ’bread bun’ in English), a Praying Mantis called Booger and a Black Rock Skink named Hollow. I have a love for creatures of all shapes and sizes.
Vet Student/Animal Attendant
After years of raising a family and working in various fields of employment, I decided it was time to pursue my passion of caring for animals. I have completed my certification IV in Veterinary Nursing at the Gordon Institute Geelong. I joined the team at Port Melbourne Veterinary clinic this year. It is an honour to provide care and support to loved pets and wildlife. I also love spending time with my own two cats Zelda and Ellie as well as Honey the turtle.
When not at the clinic, Isabella is busy studying Veterinary Nursing. At home, she is kept on her toes by her three lorikeets, a kelpie and a special needs kitten who she hand-reared. Isabella also fosters guinea pigs, cats and rabbits.
